I really think Wicked belongs on stage, maybe the book into a movie, but not the musical, it would lose something i think.

I can't see it as a movie. Unless they taped it onstage at the Gershwin like they did for Jeckyll and Hyde...

Mark Platt who produced the musical was trying to turn WICKED the book into a movie and then S.S called about making it into a musical,if you watched Broadway:The Amercian Musical you would know theses things.(hehe)

nothing can compare to seeing Wicked on stage, so I doubt they could possibly make such an amazing movie on it.
Because think about it. In the movies, when we see somebody fly we're like, ohh that's no big deal.. but on Broadway when Elphaba goes up during Defying Gravity, everyone is stunned and blown away.
Then again, I love Wicked so much, I would love to be able to someday OWN a copy of it. I mean lately they have been filming many musicals, Phantom & they're starting Hairspray but also, if they were to film Wicked it would be in like 10 years.

u can have great effects in the movie....idinaba flying away after defying gravity...

it would be great if wicked were turned into a movie, but only if it were done the proper way. SO MUCH PLOT from the novel has already been lost in transferring the story from paper to stage. i'd hate seeing the original story be butchered even more.

If they did Wicked as a movie it would be soon.I remember an interview with Kristen awhile ago and she said something about"We talking about it".I'm sure they would want to get Kristen and Idina back.but prolly just them.and as for the flying,I love when she flys but it didn't thrill me as much as I thought it would.

I think Wicked would make a fine movie musical but only if they stayed very faithful to the source material. I mean, have you heard the whispers of what Christopher Columbus is doing to RENT? None of that butchery here, plzkthx.
I would love to see the novel turned into a movie. The "big" thing about Wicked is the finale of Act 1. With the technology in movies so good these days, it wouldn't be considered that big of a deal. Either way I am biased, I liked the book better.
WHY DOES IT KEEP POSTING ME AS THAT USER NAME? *cries*

Actually I can see it, Elphaba opening a window in the Emerald City attic looking outward singing Defying Gravity holding the broom getting ready to fly....maybe it could work

thank you Derek,i know it could,by the I'm Aidaangeledna,i don't know why it changed my name.
Remember, Universal Studios is tied in to this production. I'd say there's a good chance they'd make it into a movie. I think it definitely has potential. I've actually just started reading the book, so I'll be interested in what all was taken out between the book and the musical.

I can see both Galinda and Elphaba sitting in their desks surrounded by other students sitting waiting for Doctor Dillamound, writing letters to their parents. I think it would be kinda funny/cute if they all began singing "What Is This Feeling" dancing and standing on desks, then when Doctor Dillamound finally enters they're all sitting back in their desks lol

OMG,thats kinda funny.I think Idina..I mean Elphaba should fly at the end of No Good Deed,I'm not sure where she is going but it would be cool.mabye it could be like in wizard of oz when they wicked witch is flying and she writes out surender Dorthy, they don't have to show it but thats where she could be going.

whoa, im listening to the cast recording and seeing how perfect this could be. Dancing through Life could be sung (in the beginning) by Fiyero around a fountain in the courtyard around evening, then when Galinda and Boq have their little "invite her" thing they could be in the schools library with Galinda taking a book off the shelf. when boq goes over to talk to Nessa, Galinda could take the book off and Fiyero could be looking through the shelf at her and asking "so I'll be picking you up around 8?" lol, it would be cute. idk, i see it lol. whoa, that coffee really packs a punch lol
i could see it as a movie only if it's based on the book. I would rather it not have all the songs and stuff in the movie and just let it be like the book. it would remind me of harry potter a little. but i would love to see the book, live. Even though the musical is really really good I couldn't see that being a movie.
I think it will only be a matter of time befor eseeing some form of wicked on the big screen. i would personally like them to tape the b'way show (a la sweeny todd, jeckyl and hyde) and then have them make a movie version of the book. I think even though there may not be crazy special effects, there is still oppertunity for some effects, but iwth the book you also get alot more dramatic depth, etc. that makes special effects a nonissue/ however, with a more disney version of the story (the b'way show) there's less drama there, less story for the audience to focus on, they then become antsy and that when special effects come into play (because they arent as focused on the story). im not sure if this makes sense, but it does to me in my head. i love both versions, i just think a movie of the book would be a better choice. however, i'd like the b'way show on dvd, so i can watch it...alot. haha

One short day could be all green and shiny and they be walking through the emeralde city and seeing everything and they could film the Wiz-o-mania part in the Gershwin.LOL

In the beginning of Defying Gravity when she sings I dont want, I cant want it anymore, she could be in the Emerald City attic with Glinda looking into an old mirror. I dont know lol, I'm drinking coffee and my mind is running like a train
I think, yes, it would lose some of the affects it has to the audience live and yet so many more things can be done to make it better or different than the stage version.
