Actually, CurtainPullDowner, it goes:
"She saw right through Chutney's kinky perm
and her fake alibis!"
fyi- *frizzy* perm.

According to the lyrics from my OBCR CD, Vivian says,
"I'm not a fool,
And, as a rule,
I do not BOND..."
Chorus: "Never known her to bond!"
This makes sense because she is explaining to Elle that she has finally gained respect for her and that she usually does not "bond" with other women.
Thanks guys,
"It's actually "Nessa, I've got something to confess -- a reason why...""
Its funny for the longest time I couldnt understand what a Palasis was then I realized its "now that I've chosen to become a pal a sister an advisor..."

I really don't see why some people despise the "Nessa..." lyric. It's just an internal rhyme; what's the problem?

..Exactly. As is the case with the "pal, a sister" line. The only problem is that the words are so scrunched up together that unless the actor phrases the line with the right inflection, it sounds like this made up word.

Anyone pay attention to the lyrics in ENCHANTED, while we're on the subject of Stephen Schwartz? Does "Happy Working Song" bring to mind "Popular" to you? To me, it SURE DOES!!!
well makes sense since he wrote it with it with Alan Menken...but yeah it kinda does lol

Now, is there any special term to describe rhymes using only portions of words, like "pal, a sis-" or "Helping you with your ascent al-"?

I also despise the "confessa" line. I don't care if you want to give it a special name and call it an internal rhyme it's still stupid along with half of the other lyrics in Wicked. I know he was intentionally writing some "ozzian" lyrics at times, but to me it just comes off as lazy cop outs. It's the same with Legally Blonde and some of the "valley girl" lyrics though there aren't as many as there are in Wicked.

If Schwartz changed "a" to "the", that lyric would be so much better. Listen, Nessa, I've got something to confess - the reason why, well... It still rhymes but it's just...more...intelligent.
