I am doing a poll for a project I'm working on (and I'm also curious)...
If you had to choose one Broadway show to see over and over again, or you could only see one show for the rest of your life, which show would it be and why?
Well, I've already seen RENT over and over again, so... there's my answer for that, lol.
I don't think I could choose just one show to see for the rest of my life, to the exclusion of all other shows. I like seeing new things too much. :)
A tough question. I would probably pick Sweeney Todd. Even though Les Miz is my favorite show, Sweeney is a piece that I can watch over and over and find something new every time. I'd take either the original Hal Prince staging or the recent revival by John Doyle.
FOLLIES

As I ripen, mature or simply get older, I could see A Little Night Music once a year for the rest of my life.
I liked the show a lot when I saw it in my early 20s, but now 30+ years later, Night Music makes so much more sense in my 50s. One needs some mileage on their tires to truly appreciate this show.
"Send in the Clowns" is never to be a dirge. It is chock full of irony.

Les Miz all the way. The show has probably the best score ever. Other ones would be The Light In The Piazza and Fosse.

RENT. I have immense loyalty for my theater gateway drug. I even saw the movie in the theater 15 times because I don't live in New York and can't see the real thing as often as I'd like to.
I'm going to have to second Sweeney Todd.

Beauty and the Beast because it is amazing and never ceases to amaze.
If I had to choose one, I would say Sweeney Todd.
Everytime I saw this, I picked up something different from
it. Comming in second would have to be Jersey Boys for me.
I've seen it so many times, I'm still laughing out loud.
Kitzarina's message to a T... except i prefer the new John Doyle version...

Pick a Sondheim. Just about any will do. So many layers, so much to not only watch and listen, but absorb. Sweeney, SITPWG et al.

Debating between Cabaret and Into the Woods. Cabaret is my favorite, but I think I could watch ITW more...

Les Miz. It's my favorite show, and when I don't see it for a while, I go through withdrawal. As of now I've been going crazy because it's been 3 years...and I've been dying to see it/going through my withdrawal for about 1 1/2 years, so yeah...
I just love it...the story, the music, everything.

ooooo this is a tough question!! if I could only choose one? gahhh.. my first impulse would be to say RENT... either RENT or..no, Tick Tick Boom (with OOBC in tact). But the problem is eventually I'd probably end up getting pretty depressed by it. Just, you know, after seeing it so many times! I would hate not to have something like wedding singer to balance it out :) But, yeah, for sake of just picking one show, ttB.
(runners up include RENT obviously, les mis, last 5 years, and wicked but only with idina. ONLY)
Sweeney
It is dearly missed...
