If you could pick any one person/show etc that would get a nomination for a Tony regardless of anything else, what would it be?
Personally, and likely unsurprisingly, I'm hoping Hadley Fraser makes it in the Best Actor catagory in few days. I know he won't, at least not this year. But that's who'd I'd choose. His voice reminds me of a younger Stokes.
Who/what would you choose?
Erin Davie, GG.
Aaron Lazar for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, Les Miserables
Jeff McCarthy for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. I know he was only in there for a brief amount of time, but seriously, in EVERY show he's done (including PQ), his presence is incredible!

Any of the Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me women, particularly Nicole Parker who I honestly believe should go on to do Forbidden Broadway.

Cyndi Lauper, Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
Daphne Rubin-Vega in Les Misérables. Why? Because I loved her as Fantine and because everyone would get so pissed AND because she added some originality to a carbon copy of the original production.

...since was sounding breathy and annoying considered original in a positive light? You may love her jewishboy and I respect that and as much as I love Daphne (which I do which you may find surprising after my comment), but I cannot forgive her for ruining one of the most heartfelt songs in the musical theatre canon.
since I can't decide between my two, I'm going to cheat and pretend we're allowed to do one for the Musical category and one for the Play category:
Erin Davie in GREY GARDENS
Bill Nighy in THE VERTICAL HOUR
Capathia should be nominated for Martin Short. She had me dying laughing.
I have to go with Laura Bell. She doesn't need to win, Christine and Audra are giving performances of a lifetime, but for ME, Laura Bell deserves a nomination

Johnny Gallagher, Jr. for Spring Awakening. My new favorite guy, though Norbert will always be my #1. :)

Anthony Drewe and George Stiles, Mary Poppins, Best Score
Cyndi Lauper, Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
LOL, Bso! And to honor your fabulous avatar, Meryl Streep in HAPPY END...
But seriously, another shout to Erin Davie in GREY GARDENS.
I second Stephanie J. Block.
