re: If you had to pick ONE show...

If I had to pick one show, it would be a show that hasn't been written yet. A tasteful and intelligent production based on the life, music, loves and trials of Memphis Minnie. I mean that in a very positive way. Here was one strong woman. That's for America.

For Europe, there's another story, but this isn't the place to highlight it yet,
so Rembetiko would have to take first place for shows already produced.

Followed by many:

Zanna, Don't! (it's not the most amazing thing written, it just strikes my fancy)

Godspell (2000 Revival)

and RAGTIME, to name a few.

Nine, it's near perfect.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

re: If you had to pick ONE show...

Ragtime is the most perfect show ever written IMHO.

but I have a very soft spot for CHESS. When done right, just moves me every time. (Thanks Sacramento Music Cirucs for letting me see it 14 times!)
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
