I think it's strange that a message board marked up by those that don't could deter someone from going and seeing something by those that do... joe5, I'm talking to you If you want to see the show, do so. But don't let someone who (my guess is jokingly) uses the word HATE keep you from it. And for the record, the show's fantastic.
[title of show] -- no doubt! But honestly? There isn't a single show that's opening that I'm not excited about. I kinda just feel like it's wrong to live in New York and have access to this kind of world class theater, and then poopoo it before it even starts! Giving something a bad review is totally different than a bad prediction. Optimism, people! OPTIMISM!
Shave Chris Fitzgeralds head -- cast him as Fester. Get Alison Pill to dorn a dark wig as Wednesday. And is Andrea Martin doing anything after YF? Cuz she'd be a great Granny.
I remember watching the old tv shows with my grandma... I remember Gomez as being goofy, kind of a dufus. I think Lane would be great if that's the angle they take (which after reading Michael's article, it sounds like they are...) Get him to skinny up a bit and put him next to Bebe -- I'll be there!
From what I've read this is a piece charged with political scathe. A country's leader finding photo ops among the poor-turned-homeless post natural disaster? A city laid waste from a tower fallen. A community running from ash.... Um... sound familiar?? It's definitely piqued my curiosity...
I'm just curious... where exactly did you feel the story/show resembled RENT? I mean, they both had characters named BENNY, they both had songs that were numbers in digit format.... But other than that? Let me know
I'm sure "Under The Sea" would've been preferred, but again, the non-nominated shows were only given aprx 60 seconds. There's no way they could've gotten those columns on and off in that time frame! (you know what I'm talking about... right?) And MAD PROPS to Mullaly for rocking out her song -- for me, she was the most under-rated part of the Broadway Season.
I think "Into the Woods" would be fantastic! "The Witch: Kristen Chenoweth The Baker: Steve Carell The Baker's Wife: Audra McDonald -- actually, love Laura Linney! Cinderella: Anne Hathaway -- or Kat McPhee? Jack: Mark Indelicato -- brilliant Little Red: Ellen Page -- I say get the girl who played Little Inez in Hairspray (give the cast some color!) Narrator/Mysterious Man: Hugh Laurie -- great! Cinderella's Prince: Cheyenne Jackson Rapunzel's Prince: James Marsden Rapunzel: Jayne Wisener Jac...
REALLY? "Move On" is my favorite song from SITPWG. I think the harmonies that Jenna and Daniel rock out at the end are chilling... And I'm very happy about the song choice from Gypsy (no need to abreviate that to just "G") It's the best song to let those three get the face time they've earned still featuring LuPone but not exclusively... Do we know what other shows will be performing? I'm v curious to know...
Patti was unbelievable - no doubt about it. But I'd hate to jinx it by calling it a "lock" -- I was shocked when Raul didn't win! I hear Kelli is beyond great, so we'll see...
