Are we to assume they (Max & Becky) get together? 'Cause I did not want that to happen!

I in fact do NOT assume they got together. That's almost taking the easy way out, I think. It's more complicated than that.

I think that Becky taking the step toward Max, and Max letting her is the acknowledgment that things are changing. Not between them, necessarily, but in their ways of thinking. Before that last scene, Max would have immediately moved away from Becky. But Suzanna and Andrew have finally made a decision and I think Max truly does realize that they've lost them. But I definitely don't think we're meant to assume they get together. Just that Max is going to tolerate her.

Ugh, that was sort of roundabout but whatever.

I don't think they do -- I agree, that would be too easy.

Not from a lack of HER wanting that to happen however. I do not think that they "hooked up".

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

That may be true, but I don't think the point at the end is that we're supposed to assume that Becky is going to go after Max again. Just that they're both realizing and accepting their lives are changing.

At most, it's purposefully ambiguous.

I chose, and my world was shaken. So what? The choice may have been mistaken. The choosing was not.

I don't see them getting together at all. Neither of them seem each other's types.

Agreed. Purposefully ambiguous. BTW, anyone else out there find themselves wishing that Andrew and Becky had gotten together? Or am I revealing my crazy side...
