Saw In The Heights last Saturday matinee with a group of students and only about half of the cast came out in the 40 minutes we waited, very few leads came out. Everyone that came out was very friendly and signed.

At Shrek a lot of the cast does come out: You will usually get ATLEAST Christopher Sieber, John Tartaglia, Daniel Breaker, and Brian D'Arcy James of the leads plus ensemble. It takes forty-five minutes to get the Shrek makeup off Brian, so he is usually the last one to come out. As for Sutton, I don't really know how frequently she comes out, but I would think she'd come out after a night show.

Almost everyone came out after the In the Heights matinee I saw a few weeks ago, but since that was Lin's last weekend, maybe that was the exception?

Most everyone comes out after Shrek's evening shows. Sutton...not so much in my experience. Once she came out and signed for a few people, then took advantage of the lack of organization at the door (it was the first preview so there were no barricades or anything) to slip off. This past Saturday I was back at night to see Brian (the nice guy at the stage door suggested coming back to see Brian since he does NOT come out between shows), and as I'd seen Irena's Vow that evening I was there early. The other guy (he's not mean, but he's not the nice one) tried to tell us later that Sutton was the first one out. But I had been back there along with a couple of others from matinee or other earlier performances and a guy who came out during curtain call and NONE of us saw her. I personally wouldn't hold my breath on seeing her ~ even at the matinee when there were people handing out cards about her CD along with "signature cards" she was a no-show.

(Interesting little tidbit... And I guess possible SPOILER... If you're near the door around 10:10 in the evening of 8pm shows, you just might see Shrek and Donkey being escorted from the stage door to a side entrance. :) Hee!)

Hi Wicked4l -

Just out of curiosity, were you at Carnegie Deli last night talking to a musician who goes to NYU (that would be me)? If not, perhaps you are someone else from the large group...is your choir from California and performing a piece at Carnegie Hall written by a composer from your school or one of the local universities?...just wondering.
