It kinda looks and sounds a little like a high school production. Usnavi, Nina, and Vanessa all look INSANELY young. And Nina and Vanessa sound a little weak (more Vanessa than Nina).

The dancing looked pretty good though. Guess we'll just have to wait and see some reviews.

Usnavi, Nina, and Vanessa all look INSANELY young.

I like that though because aren't the characters supposed to be that young? Nina has to be only 18 or 19 since she just came back from her first year of college, assuming she went off to college right after high school. And I always pictured the other characters (aside from Nina's parents and Abuella, of course) to be around that age too through their early 20s. Also, Sonny must be as young as 15 or 16 as suggested by several lines and things throughout (Nina being his babysitter, "I am creating a union, underaged cousins of bodega workers unite!").

Anyways, I wish I could see this tour. I hope people who are lucky enough to catch it post reviews.

Well having seen the show on Broadway, I'll say this.

From that small clip, Arielle Jacobs is no Mandy Gonzalez, vocally. But she also appears to be the age the character should be, which is a positive for her (sidenote: IMO Gonzalez deserved a Tony nomination, but it was a tough year for Leading Actress, which they billed her as)

I'm not sure who is playing Vanessa...but I do not like her vocally either. Yet again, this is comparing her to Olivo, but either way, on her big number she sounds weak.

Kyle Beltran looks promising though.

But I applaud the creative team for casting young actors who actually look/are the age of the characters in the show.

I'm interested in seeing the entire production when it rolls through Buffalo in January.

Hey everyone!

I went to see In The Heights (hip hop musical) last summer in New York, and I never thought I'd be able to see it again. Well, it seems it going to be in Atlanta (my hometown) very very soon! Please click here to vote for me to win tickets. I can't afford to buy them. Thanks so so so much!

I feel like Kyle could be playing Sunny. He looks really young, as does most of the cast. I was REALLY impressed with Arielle's vocals, but who ever is playing Vanessa didn't seem to have the vocal chops, at least on the video

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing it in Atlanta next week. I think they all look young, too, but whatever. I'm sure that there will be plenty of people who can't enjoy seeing the piece for its own merits and will make comparisons because it's not Lin or Mandy or Karen or Chris or whoever....

I think all shows probably face this kind of skepticism the first time they are viewed w/o the original cast. (I'll bet that the first time people saw Phantom w/o Crawford & Brightman the same kind of stuff was being said... I know it's what I said and thought!)

I was fortunate to see ITH on Broadway before Lin left the cast and am thankful for that experience, but I can't wait to see the tour!

Break a Leg ITH Natl Tour Cast!!!!!
