Indecision - Please help

Ok, here's the situation, I've posted a few times about my indecision but I really have to make a decision the next couple of days. I'm going to NYC over labor weekend. I really wanna see 3 shows Xanadu, Rent, Spring Awakening, but I can only see 2 so I have to pick which ones the odd one out, I feel like I'll be missing out if I don't see one of them.

Rent - I've seen this show 6 times but never with anthony and adam, but I feel like i'm missin out if i don't see with them. But Dad has already seen it and won't appreciate A&A

Spring Awakening - Looks amazing from the tony awards but is really expensive

Xanadu - The reviews and everybody says its amazing especially onstage seating...but i've never been a fan of musical comedies (DRS, Spelling Bee, Spamalot) and i dont'know where there are online clips are of Xanadu so i could be disappointed as well.

Please help me pick one!

Skip Rent.

Spring Awakening has onstage seating too and its a lot less than the other seats.

Xanadu has Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman. What's left to live for?

If you've seen Rent 6 times...think on that, especially since the two guys are in the film.

There's really no indecision.

I say see the new shows "Spring Awakening" and "Xanadu" and skip "Rent" as you have seen it numerous times.

re: Indecision - Please help

In my opinion, you're an idiot if you choose to see RENT over XANADU and SPRING AWAKENING.

Anthony & Adam? You already have seen the show...and you've seen their performances in the movie!

XANADU & SPRING AWAKENING. It's the ONLY decision.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I'd skip Spring Awakening. I found it highly overrated.

re: Indecision - Please help

Skip 'Rent'... that's the one and only decision.

If you've seen it 6 times, honestly, the two of them won't make THAT much difference.

They're on the cast recording, they're in the movie...

See the original, talented casts of these new musicals rather than two aging individuals rehashing their past successes.

See Spring Awakening.

re: Indecision - Please help

I would see RENT for Anthony and Adam if you haven't seen them in the show (Send dad to another show and meet him afterward) And see Spring Awakening.

re: Indecision - Please help

The stage seats for SA are almost impossible to get anymore, sadly. But there's TKTS, etc. This is one of the few shows I have ever paid full price for, even after having seen it twice. IMHO it's that good. I *promise* you will like it.

I haven't seen Xanadu, but I say among the three, skip Rent. Anthony and Adam are not going to be that different from what you have seen 6 times.

re: Indecision - Please help

I saw Adam and Anthony on Aug. 1, and it was an amazing experience, but if I had the option I would have chosen to see something else. So my vote goes for Spring Awakening and Xanadu!

re: Indecision - Please help

See Rent - Even if you've seen it before, I think you should see Adam and Anthony. I know they were in the movie, but this is much better.

It depends on what your mood is. If you want to laugh then see Xanadu. If you want something to make you think about what is going on then see SA. I agree with what movieguy said about Rent.

I would say to see Xanadu. It's fun, and its just a good theater experience.

I'm totally with Capnhook. Get SA front of rear mezz-it's not as expenwsive as orchestra and it's a better view.
