Hey Ya,
I know this is probably annoying, but I'm a musical theater actor and haven't had to do a monologue for an audition in forever, so just wanted to see if any of you had any ideas for a contemporary monologue to audition for something like The Inheritance. It doesn't have to be a male monologue as in the past I've used a woman's monologue and just switched around some words. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!
I like to pick an established playwright, then read some of their early or lesser known plays for material. If you were auditioning for something contemporary and LGBT themed, like "The Inheritance," you could start with playwrights like Terrance McNally, Nicky Silver or Jon Robin Baitz.
