Into The Woods — Page 3

Into the Woods was the first real musical I ever did, and remains one of my favorites. I played Jack and the costumes/sets were AMAZING!

when i comes to vanessa i get a little defensive because i feel she's an amazing performer.

vanessa and bernadette are different performers and approached the role from a different angle, which is fine, every performer does that. i'm not opposed to someone not liking her performance, that just comes down to personal taste in my opinion, and that's all well and good but some people on this board really go overboard by saying things like she "butchered" the role as if she was some hack performer that just walked off the street, which she is not.

and it was dickondefysgravity who used the word blasphemous in describing the recent revival. that's going abit overboard in my opinion. the current revival of "into the woods" was a whole helluva lot better than most of the crap that's trying to pass itself off as musical theatre these days.

Agreed, Marquise... Despite my preference for the original, I certainly didn't regret seeing the revival, and I was happy that ITW got one. As to my wording, I addressed that in an earlier post.
