Into the Woods reference on Top Chef??

Did anyone else catch that? When the chefs were camping out someone asked if they thought there were bears in the desert and the other chef (don't know his name. the gay out one.) said, "A bear? Bears are sweet..." But it was the same inflection as Bernadette in the OBC recording.

Or am I just a total musical theater nerd?

me too! glad i'm not the only one! it would be a good question to submit if they do a reunion. oh and the chef that said that was Ash i think.

I'm sure it was a reference. I caught it too. I know I would've said the same thing if I had been there.

For the elimination challenge last night, Ash was tasked with deconstructing ... SHEPHERD'S PIE. Between that and the fact he was cooking for a guy named Toby, I was shocked he didn't make at least one Sweeney Todd reference.

His food did look like there was a bit of actor in there.

Was definitely an Into the Woods reference. He is, however, a truly awful chef based on all the dishes he's made (many he hasn't been able to finish).
