Ive never been to a production at the Irish Repertory Theatre. They are doing one of my favorite plays this winter, London Assurance ... does anyone have any seating recommendations? I looked at the seating map and a few pictures from aviewfrommyseat .... I can see there is only one section, with an aisle on one side, and a wall on the other. It looks like stadium style seating. Does anyone know if the rows are equally elevated over each other, or if there are any particular rows to avoid that are not as elevated? Sometimes theatres dont elevate the second and/or third rows over the first row, for example. Thanks!
Thank you for the responses! The picture link was exactly what I wanted to know. I like to sit as close as possible so it helps very much to know about the second row. I appreciate you both taking the time to respond.
I've sat in the second row and not had a problem seeing the action on stage. As mentioned, the theater is small and there really isn't a bad seat. Now that they've renovated and replaced the side orchestra with a mezzanine, you should be fine from any seat in the house.
Yes, that side orchestra was terrible! I’m so glad the Irish Rep was able to renovate. I sat in the mezzanine a couple of times and liked the view, but it is fairly high because it has to clear the orchestra (of course). And the orchestra goes up fairly high because of the stadium seating. I mention this because my theater buddy who doesn’t like heights was not completely comfortable up there until she got used to it.
