Is Blake Bashoff definitely leaving SA in May?

I haven't gotten a chance to see him in Spring Awakening yet, the last time I saw the show was in October 07. I'd love to see him as Moritz just once before he leaves. And I was thinking that since he obviously won't be returning to LOST in a major way, is there a possibility that he will be extending his contract? I won't be able to make it to NYC until July.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks! (Sorry if this has been discussed before, I did do a search but nothing came up)

It's still in negotiation, but that's when his contract ends.

Blake is incredible in the role. I really hope you get a chance to see him!

Several people have said the he has confirmed NOT leaving in May with his stay extended to August...but not confirmed details of what date that means.

I agree with the above poster: he is amazing and worth seeing. His suicide scene in one of the most amazing things.

I hoping he stays at LEAST through the first week in August...I have front row seats.

The rumor that goes along with this: That Gerard Canonico (sp?) the last original ensemble performer is getting bumped to the role. TWO new male swing/ensemble members have been hired: one already in rehearsal and one scheduled to start (but we don't know if start means performances or rehearsal) in July.

Blake HAS stated that he probably WILL have more LOST episodes to film...you know how much LOST loves a good flashback. Confirmed that NOTHING new for this season.

Good for Gerard if that is true. He's paid his dues and has a lot of experience in the role. And he's good. That would be an easy transition for everyone.

-thread jack- with Hair coming up this summer and Lea doing the Les Mis concert in LA when are they leaving? I know that when i see it again in august they will probably both be gone.

No way! I love Gerard Canonico! Wow, good for him. I've never seen him as Moritz, but I definitely want to.

That stinks I really love Blake as Moritz. And wow I still can't imagine anybody but Lea and Jonathan as the leads. Hmmmmmm.

i have been hearing about gerard replacing blake that would be nice. blake is a great moritz he will be missed when he leaves which is not may 18th. jonathon b wright leaves tommorrow...i am missing him already, good luck to him in the future.

It hasn't been confirmed yet, but Jon and Lea are leaving that day and I think JBW is leaving tomorrow.

Just last night a friend talked to Blake...and no new information...just repeating the info...probably staying until sometime in August.

The other info above (JBW and Lea/Groff) is correct. And Matt Doyle is confirmed to be taking over for Hanschen while still understudying Melchior.

i was just going to ask about matt! Thats great news. I too cant imagine anyone other than jon or lea in the leads. However my audio of alex in the role is very pretty so i dont mind her in it but regardless i have front row seats in august so ill have to deal with them gone from the show.
