Is Michelle Pfeiffer a film "von Tussle"?

For those who consider Ms. Pfeiffer's performance as Susie Diamond in "The Fabulous Baker Boys", to be one of the greatest of the last 20 years, interesting news, to say the least.

I could see it; I'm actually pretty happy with the casting so far even though my vote was for John Goodman as Edna; but what can ya do?!

Cheers,

Love her to death. But considering how screwy the casting for this movie is turning out to be (John Travolta?!?!?), it wouldn't surprise me if they were casting Pfeiffer as Little Inez or Corny Collins.

I will be in the minority. I will be jeered at and ridiculed for saying this but what the heck. If she could lose her accent, a big if, I think Olivia Newton John could be really fun in the Velma role.

As much as I hated Hairspray, casting Michelle Pfeiffer would get me to see the movie. I love me some Michelle Pfeiffer.

That'd be cool.

I have absolutely no qualms at all with the casting so far. Billy Crystal is a perfect idea for Wilbur and Queen Latifah will be fine as Motormouth. And I'm certainly in the minority here, but I think John Travolta is ideal - he'll ham up the role, can sing, and can dance. Plus, people will pay to see him in drag. I'd imagine he'll play the role differently than Harvey and the stage Ednas, but that only makes sense.

I resoundingly agree with timote316.
Let's remember to have faith in those who have been in the business a LONG time. None of us get paid to make casting decisions in major films- and there's probably a good reason for that.
