Is Montego on vacation in Memphis...

With the comments on the thread about the Memphis tour it seems that Felicia Boswell has been playing Felicia for the past week or two. Dan'yelle performed at Bryant Park on the 21st but it was reported that Felicia played Felicia on July 23rd.

I am going to see Memphis for the second time on Friday and I would love to see Montego again. I really liked Bryan Fenkart so I really don't care if Chad is out. If someone can let me know if Montego has been out due to illness or vacation that would be great and if she should be back on August 12th.

Also if she is not, does anyone know besides Felicia Boswell, who I would be seeing? Thanks!

For some reason I thought she already left the show. This is one show I don't really follow or know anything about though. I know Chad Kimball is gone though.

Chad is hardly ever in the show, but he's still a cast member. His final performance is October 23. That said, his understudy goes on about as often as he does.

Montego is still on vacation, through Sunday I believe. It's not uncommon for understudies to perform at Broadway on Broadway.

Montego is delivering the commencement address at a university nowhere near NYC this weekend, so yes, she will be out around that time

I thought the same thing. Why should she go on vacation to Memphis, of all places. One would think she'd had enough of that, wouldn't one?

Montego delivered the commencement address at my university this past weekend and was phenomenal. Great message and great poise. I saw Memphis when she was performing for the President and saw Danyell perform, who was great. I actually prefer Danyell's Felicia when compared to Montego's (I saw the film version). I'm not sure if she's on vacation but she did mention reading a particular book "while on vacation."

I saw the show last Wednesday night and Montego was out. I talked to an usher who said she was on vacation and had been out the previous week as well. I believe she is to be back this week.

Dan'yelle was in and did a great job. I was a little disappointed because I paid to be down front after seeing the show from the balcony a few times. I haven't been able to catch the leads together since my first time, but the understudies are very good. The second time I saw it Felicia was in and I was pleasantly surprised because I was concerned thinking Montego is the key. (I still think she got robbed of a Tony.) But I have to say that I've been more disappointed when Chad is out. I guess I'm in the minority on that but I didn't think Bryan Fenkart had the vocal range that Chad did, especially for "Memphis Lives in Me" and since that's my favorite song I felt the loss. Just my opinion, but I felt Felicia was closer to Montego's ability than Bryan was to Chad's.

Still disappointing to miss her.
Very thankful that J Bernard Calloway (Delray) has been there all 4 times. He is amazing!
