I am just curious as I assumed she would not be, but looking at the recent pictures posted on the home page, it shows a show poster outside the theater with Stephanie and Joels name above the title.

Is she considered above title then? Or is it just the formatting of the poster?

If you are having a dinner party, I'd seat her somewhere between Catherine Oxenberg and Valerie Bertinelli in order of precedence.

if the title page in playbill looks like the poster, than yes she is above the title.

I wonder if they will change that when Joel is replaced. I feel like they left it cause Joel is too big to be under the title and they obviously cant have Stephanie under Joel. And in most Broadway shows they eventually put the leads under the title after the original stars have left.

I guess my question would be:

Does her name appear above the title on anything?

If so, then the answer is yes.
If not, then the answer is no.

Why wouldn't she be? Reno Sweeney is clearly the focus of that show and clearly the reason most people come to see it. And it's not as though she's a complete unknown, having starred in several Broadway shows over the past 10 years already.

I absolutely love SJB, but I was just surprised by it. I typically thought above title was reserved for Broadway legends, big stars, and tony winners. Perhaps they will change it when Joel leaves, who knows. But good for her!

They might keep it that way. I believe Wicked kept all their Glindas and Elphabas above the title until around the 7th replacement.

I'm happy for SJB. It kind of sucks that she succeeds Tony award winning roles, but doesn't have one.

"Wicked" kept the Elphabas and Glindas above the title until July 2009, when Dee Roscioli came in as Elphaba.

Marin Mazzie & Jason Danieley were also above the title in "Next to Normal."
