It is my first time purchasing broadway tickets, and I want to get them early so that I get a good seat. I was wondering is telecharge the best place to buy tickets or should I buy them somewhere else? Thank you!

Telecharge and Ticketmaster are the main Broadway ticketing sites. Go to the show's official site and it will take you to the proper site to purchase tickets. Don't purchase from sites like Broadway.com, unless you want a massive amount of fees.

Each theater deals with one of Telecharge or Ticketmaster (or TelechargeOffers, which is the branch of telecharge you use when you have a coupon code). They are certainly the most transparent, as you will pay the face value and get the seat you select (or less than, if you have a coupon for the show). I'd recommend using them--lots of the other sites charge larger fees for less.
If you are in NYC, you can walk to most box offices and avoid the fees altogether, btw.

And depending on HOW early you are buying tickets, look to see if you can find a discount code!

playbill.com and theatremania.com both offer discount codes for many shows....but they are then purchased THRU telecharge / ticketmaster using that code. Finding your discounts in this manner allows you to choose your seats rather than gambling on the seats chosen for you with TodayTix, Goldstar or TKTS.

Just to clarify--if you have a code for a Ticketmaster show, you can enter it on Ticketmaster. For a Telecharge show, you need to go to TelechargeOffers.com to use the code. The codes will sometimes give different discounts, so it pays to see what the exact discount is for the days and seat types you are interested in

Broadwaybox.com is also a legitimate site to find discount codes - it will take you to Telecharge or Ticketmaster to purchase. As said above, the advantage is that you can get a discount (on some shows) and pick your seats in advance.
