So I'm hedging my bets on Drowsy Chaperone opening up some advance discounted tickets for a mid-June performance.

What with all the Tony noms, am I being reasonable? Or should I just go ahead and shell out the dough for full priced tickets?

The show isn't coming close to selling out and it seems to always be on TKTS, and the previous discounts have been plentiful.
I'm just starting to get worried as we're less than two weeks from June, and I want to make sure I've got tickets in hand before going June 17th.

thoughts, anyone?

This show is not selling out, you will get half priced tickets for sure. No need to buy them in advance.

IF the show wins the Tony for Best Musical, the discounts will probably stop, especially short-term. I remember Ave Q had discounts right up to winning the Tony, and then it didn't have any for about a year (admittedly in a much smaller theater). On the other hand, if it doesn't win, it will probably keep on discounting.

Check out the discounts on the playbill club (go to playbill.com and find the links from there).

I got $65 tickets in advance (well worth me not standing in the tkts line).

I got seats in the 4th row, middle of the row. PERFECT seats.

I just had a look at playbill.com. The current Playbill discount offer finishes at the end of May.

I'm facing the dilemma. I am just going to go ahead and pay full price, because I am too am seeing it soon after the Tonys. I would rather shell out a little bit extra to guarantee that I get to see it.

I have seen The Drowsy Chaperone twice. It is a fantastic show. Definitely worth full price tickets but if your on a budget there are tickets in the Mezz for 23.75 and they are awesome seats. We sat there the first time we saw the show.
Go to theatermania.com. You can buy advance tickets at the dicounted price past May as long you purchase them by the end of May.

The show is amazing get your tickets.....you will love it.
It has to win the Tony for best musical. Sutton Foster's "Show Off" number is fantastic ! ENJOY !!!!!

They may be in the 80s (%) but their avg. ticket price is one of the lowest on Broadway.. I believe it was around $40 since previews started. You do not have to pay full price to see this. If they drop the discounts, their percentage of filled seats will suffer.

It wasn't on TKTS on Tuesday or Wednesday so it may be doing much better since the Tony nominations came out. I'd just go with the full price tickets because there might be no chance at tickets if it does well at the Tonys and you'd at least guarantee yourself tickets.
