1st row is usually always discounted these days. You for the most part have to stretch your neck up and side to side to follow a show.
They have always said and why they charge Premium Prices for rows 8-12 Center as the best between closeup and perspective of lighting/scenery and movement.

"The same people who spend tons on Broadway would not give a bum on the street a nickel."

How the hell would you possibly know that? And isn't it someone's choice if they want to spend a lot of their OWN money anyways?

"Try going from 2 incomes to 2 social security checks and an IRA. I got fed up with the boss from hell and I left with no notice."

That was 100% your choice to leave. Are you seriously complaining about ticket prices and how expensive they are, when you willingly left your job with no notice? Broadway is a business that doesn't typically care about unemployed people with no extra income. Theater is a want, a luxury. You quit your job, so you have to sacrifice. That's life. Stop complaining.

FYI, they sell standing room. I bought a $37 ticket for today's matinee. They sell them when the show is sold out. I got online at 10:30 and bought the ticket at noon. If you're wondering about tomorrow, the box office said it was close to a sell-out.
