Trying for obstructed view seats .
Does anyone know where they are in the orchestra and what are the best ones?
Money aside, these may be the only ones left assuming they are not already gone.

Are you assuming that they have obstructed view seats for this or did someone tell you they do? I don't think they offer them for that show.

Just returned from the theater
Yes they have obstructed view seats - last row upstairs either side and first row of orchestra. The sports charge full price for these gems.
Looks like either actors fund or a naughty version

Posted: 9/11/14 at 12:02pmRoxy, didn't you go to great pains to tell us that you were fed up with Broadway, wouldn't be going to shows anymore and more importantly would be posting much, much less on the Broadway board? When exactly can we look forward to that starting?
#5It I Only A Play Ticket Question
Posted: 9/11/14 at 12:05pmProducers can charge whatever they want for obstructed view seats. They're not obligated to sell them at a discounted rate. They're only obligated to inform the ticket buyer that the seats are obstructed.
#6It I Only A Play Ticket Question
Posted: 9/11/14 at 12:07pmHmm, if they're the same price, you should just buy an unobstructed seat... unless you have your heart set on obstruction.
#7It I Only A Play Ticket Question
Posted: 9/11/14 at 12:10pmIsn't the last row upstairs on the sides already being sold for about $71? That's cheaper than the rest of the mezzanine (presumably because of the obstructions).

Posted: 9/11/14 at 12:33pmI was told all obstructed views were full price by the box office.

The full price of the rear mezzanine (rows J-K) is $72 weekdays/82 weekends. And it's not obstructed as far as I know.
But even if it is obstructed, that's a fair price.

Posted: 9/11/14 at 12:55pmAs neon just pointed out $72 is the 'full price' for weekdays for the rear mezz. (It's not $150.)

Thanks, but I'll pass on paying that, cuz I can.
But aren't ALL the seats-both full and partial view-in the rear mezz that price?

According to this, https://www.telecharge.com/Broadway/Its-Only-a-Play/Schedules-Prices, all the seats in J and K rear mezz, yes.
Roxy is looking for seats that don't exist. The cheapest seat is too far away, so he's upset.

Try going from 2 incomes to 2 social security checks and an IRA. My wife was let go 3 1/2 years ago and could not find a job in this wonderful economy and took early retirement. I got fed up with the boss from hell and I left with no notice.
We both agreed the prices are outrageous and even if we both worked we would not pay them. Prices continue to rise because suckers like you will pay what they are asking. Many on this board have decried high prices but you and folks like you say I am the only one who does it. Add to your willingness to pay whatever they ask with those who are so hooked they see a show 30 or 40 times and they have you guys by the short hairs. The same people who spend tons on Broadway would not give a bum on the street a nickel. Broadway is all about the Benjamins and art be damned.
I could care less if I see another show as people such as yourself along with the state of Broadway have left me cold. I would pay a fair price but $ 170 for The Elephant Man to me is not fair. I saw the original and that was enough. If you want to pay it or $300 for a seat enjoy yourself.
We see what we can from TDF and other offerings and actors fund shows and naughty version. We see what she wants to see as I do not want to see a bloody thing and the prices just cement my feeling.
Rip into me here as I will not be coming back to this thread

Why don't you try not coming in here at all? I'm sick of listening to you gripe about ticket prices and how cheaper seats aren't in locations that are good enough for you.
I sit in partial view seats or whatever I'm given at the cheapest price. I stopped being a seat snob ages ago. Maybe you should try that. Or, pick something you really want to see. Or, try some small off or off-off Broadway theater? (I've found some more 'soul satisfying' as an actress I very much enjoy would say, theater off the Great White Way.)

Posted: 9/11/14 at 2:03pmRoxy, you do realize that your constant use of the term "naughty version" makes you sound like some creepy, third rate pornographer, right?
#17It I Only A Play Ticket Question
Posted: 9/11/14 at 2:31pmThe elephant man also has cheaper tickets then 170 bucks. You can see these shows on the cheap but of course you are generally not going to be in the orchestra for these shows.

It's not a charity. If you want a bargain, go to Filene's Basement.

To actually get your question answered, yesterday I was row B all the way on the left and every one else I saw in line with me was the end seats on the left as well. The person who purchased a ticket right after me was however in the Mezz all the way on the left, row B.
But the view was great. Felt like I didn't miss anything.

Posted: 9/13/14 at 9:42amLots of people seem to complain about front row of the orchestra sometimes feeling like a partial view because of the height of the stage. If these seats are being sold as such maybe some producer finally sat in the front row and felt the same.
