It wasn't an amazing show, but it wasn't as horrible as many people here make it out to be, either.

Diana did really well in WSS, got great reviews, especially from people going into the show not expecting it to be great. She held an opera note and blew everyone over, especially in the scene where Tony died.

This is great news for Diana! I'm realy excited for her. She loves doing theatre and I think people have doubts in her just because she was an 'american idol.'

She will do couple of months of Hairspray then go on tour.

Yeah! I'm excited! ....don't underestimate the girl... Diana can SING. True she had her ups and downs on American Idol, but that was 2 years ago (she was SIXTEEN for heavens sake!)I have seen hear live and must say that she has awesome stage presence and a passion in her singing like a true performer.

I say just sit back and wait... don't be too short to judge!

I think that is what people are forgetting; she was only 16 on American Idol, to sing like that at 16 was phenomenanol. With the right coaching her voice will and probably has developed into a fine instrument. Good luck to her!

Just to get things clear: I am not doubting her because she was on American Idol. i was rooting for her all through that. It was merely curiosity, as I haven't seen her in any theatrical productions. I also think it's very cool, since she's only a little more than a year older than me, and she's pretty successful.

You hope she doesn't ruin Brooklyn?

Since it's SO good as it is?

Anyway.. difference of opinions. I had to go do some downward dog after reading that, but I'm ok now.

She may have been good as Maria with her Soprano voice, but this is Brooklyn, which is an absurdly high belt/mix show.

It takes a real technician to be able to do this show for any amount of time.

I'm not worried about Melba. Have you heard I Got Love from Purlie? If her voice is have as high as it was back then, I'm sure she'll be just fine.

But DeGarmo... I have doubts.
I have... such.. doubts.

I really liked Diana's "Don't Cry Out Loud".. and I loved Brooklyn. So, hopefully it'll come to Toronto sooner than later.
