Ives and Sondheim at the public theater

Matthew Morrison posted a photo on Instagram about working with David Ives and Stephen Sondheim this past week. It looked like a reading. Are they working on a show at the moment?

Yes.  Sondheim and Ives are working on a new musical based on two Luis Bunuel films.  It had a reading over the summer and has been in progress for a few years now.  It has been in development with The Public Theater and 2017 had been rumored to be it's premiere year, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Sondheim has been notorious for being lazy and slow in getting projects done (by his own admission). I think they need to announce dates so he's forced to finish it instead of a 4 year period of doing labs every 6 months. We need this!!! lol

Just because there are no announced dates dose not mean they arnt holding him to some sort of deadline...

^ So I guess that the mini work shop mentioned at the end of the thread was postponed two weeks?
