How do I get a copy of the Dennis DeYoung recording?!? He has such a fantastic voice-- I would love to hear what he did with Pilate!
You wanna see something crazy? The notorious "Superstar 2000" Pilate, Fred Johanson, who served up the role as an enormous, Jeremy Irons at the opera plate of ham, played Judas at a few shows. It's a real change from the usual Judas.
Strangely enough, I don't loathe Jerome Pradon's Judas? Is he brilliant as a singer? No, but his Judas was something different than the usual strong, steely counter to Christ. He gave us a genuinely weak, broken man on the verge of yet another defeat that could cost not only him, but everyone, everything. It was an interesting take.
