JUST FOR ONE DAY: THE LIVE AID MUSICAL

A couple weeks ago I was on a trip to the UK and on my last night I had the honor of seeing Just for One Day: The Live Aid Musical with my dad at the Shaftesbury Theatre. Even though I bought the tickets last minute, I'm honestly shocked that nobody is talking about it enough especially for of all things a jukebox musical. Needless to say I loved it. and it's the kind of show that should definitely be on Broadway because its message is one the world needs to hear now more than ever. We’ve been in the midst of jukebox musical fatigue for a while, but also it didn’t exactly get much acclaim in London because the book surrounding the songs was essentially panned by the critics.

There are far more superior jukebox musicals I would love to see cross the Atlantic, particularly STANDING AT THE SKY’S EDGE (though that may have the “too British” concern that Mincemeat grappled with)
