OK so here are my overall thoughts on what this could mean for the TONY Awards...

starting with Distinguished Performance Award, there are four potential nominees for Lead Actor in a Musical: those being Christopher, Evans, Henry and Uranowitz. I am surprised that Sam Tutty and Aaron Tveit were notably absent but we will see how the other awards shake out...Leading Actress in a Musical interestingly has six potential noms (Chase, Levy, Michele, Mindele, Pitts and Vosk) however we're only expecting 5 noms to make it to the Tony's so pick your poison to who doesn't make it...The featured categories is where it gets tricky because the Drama League can only nominate two people per show. For potential Featured Actress in a Musical we only have two: Bean and Hsu, hoping that Cruz, Lewis, Kurtz or Tempress can get noms for their shows in other awards tho so we have a good 5 or 6. Potential Featured on the other hand, we have Bourzgui, De Shields, and Rousouli

You mean Mr. Gruber?

I could also see John Rubinstein if he’s still doing stage work. Kelly might be working on WARRIORS.
"

Yeah I could totally see John Rubenstein doing it, and he's definitely still doing stage work, last I saw him was in an off broadway solo show called "Eisenhower: This Piece of Ground"

First up on my replacement list is Grace McLean.

Well if the new musical on Broadway is death’s door than Broadway as a whole is on death’s door…and there’s no way to stop it…I fear we are looking at a point where a lot of Broadway theaters are left empty of mo

The show is too expensive to make sense on Broadway.

While that is true, the animatronic is more than just a gimmick for Paddington…it’s also an incredible marketing tool, I mean  it had a feature for British Vogue, it performed on Strictly Come Dancing,

Years ago on an episode of Watch What Happens Live, I remember her talking about her love for Bette Midler and how excited she was to see her in Hello, Dolly! So she's been at least a casual Broadway fan for some time."

And if anybody can bring in a major audience to the TONY Awards, it’s an art

It was nice to hear some of his opt-ups again that he seemed to forgo after previews, but it’s still blatantly clear that he is not a rock tenor and that is painfully evident in some of the songs that should sound like a roaring cri de coeur (Pity The Child #3) but come off as a bit whiny. I also had trouble with One Night In Bangkok since it felt like he was snarkingly talk-singing through it and I REALLY missed the 8

From my understanding, Cats: The Jellicle Ball is the only open-ended musical revival…however they appear to be staggering their ticket sales (currently until September) which I think is definitely a smart choice
