Probably my Australian bias showing, and I am a fan of David as well as his dad Jimmy Barnes (now there's a family story worthy of a musical!!) but I think David fits the role slightly better although clearly Jonathan is giving it his all and he's getting good reviews from people I follow outside of here. The critics notices will be interesting to see, especially about the conceit used for the show.

''Not sure what to make of the reviews from people who haven’t actually seen the show. Maybe that’s the nature of the internet.
As someone who saw a preview two weeks ago and is old enough to remember watching Darin’s tv series the year he died, here’s my two cents. The show is a lot like Darin was himself: brilliant but flawed, and most of us will have a good time watching it.''
Purplehayes, thanks for your thoughtful, thorough and eloquent review of ''Just in Time.'' I'm glad you ''got'' it: Ultimately, it's more than a jukebox musical about nostalgia. It's one entertainer's love letter to another entertainer, and the joy of live performance.
