If I can't see Norm as Curtis, I will certainly take Jamie. He would be perfect because he has a real smooth voice. I'm really interested in who they finally cast as Jimmy and CC too.

Jamie foxx is a gimmick and most of you are falling for it the man cannot sing please buy his 1st album it came out in the early 90's

He is too much a punk to play Curtis, i see Curtis as "Ike Turner"
he can play Marty

Foxx is certainly the "man of the moment." While I am not his #1 fan, I think casting him in the D-girls film would be inspired. As many have mentioned, I could see him as either Curtis or Jimmy, but I would prefer he do Curtis. He def. adds star-wattage and is a credible singer.

If Ramona from Brooklyn wins the Tony , I'd love to have her Lorrell on film and she could be a contender (soooooooooooo good, and I say "win" because it'd create buzz for ticket sales, from theatre people anyway)

But I've seen her play Lorrell before (against Jennifer Holliday and Norm Lewis no less) and she was terrific
