No, I had to run out to a rehearsal of the musical Cry-Baby, so there's no rest for the wicked.

Was she/the rest of the cast already announced for this musical?

According to Riedel, an unknown LA actor is playing the lead. Maxwell is playing the mother.

Megan Lawrence is also in it.

Is it common to start rehearsals without announcing the cast?

Isn't this just the workshop? I don't think it happens at La Jolla until the fall. And yes, often times, full cast announcements won't officially happen until rehearsals are under way.

Rock of Ages had a brief run in LA, which I didn't get to see. I think it featured a lot of 80's music. Could be wrong.

And - Jan Maxwell. Cool. I'm a fan. Updated On: 5/16/07 at 08:18 PM

sorry,
rock of ages was suppossed to be a off-bway show but one of the producers left. so they did a backers audition back in march I think for like 3-4 performances. It was up on playbill and such.
I think mr. snyder was in a movie with amanda bynes...some soccer movie.

Jan Maxwell was awesome in the last Cry Baby reading. The guy playing Cry-Baby is named James Snyder and is from LA. I hear he is fantastic.

Megan Lawrence will not be continuing with Cry Baby neither will Chester Greogry (as of now, we will see if he ends up doing it again now that Tarzan is closing) and Conrad John Schuck.

Also from what I have heard this show will be rehearsing in NY at the New 42nd St. rehearsal space.

Why is Megan Lawrence no longer associated with the production? Did she withdraw or was she let go? She's so talented, and I'm dying to see her in something new.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I'm confused as to what the first post of this is referencing, but regardless- if Jan Maxwell's doing something, I'm defintiely going.

There used to be a link in the thread to what it was referencing, but I don't know where it went. I think it was Stage Notes Blog at Broadway.com or something.

ACL- Check your PM's about why she left.
