I just watched it again and was even more impressed the second time. Jane must have been thrilled with the level of care that was put into this one number. Usually on Ally McBeal, I felt like the musical numbers were a gimmick to make the show "hip and cutting edge" but this number was a salute to one of their star's amazing ad sadly underused talents. I'll bet - if she still has one - this number is on Jane Krakowsi's show reel.

I'm an idiot because I enjoyed the choreography in the video over the actual shows choreography? Okay. I'm not a fan of the MATM choreography to begin with, so something fresh like the dancing in the video (and vocals!) is great in my eyes.

I do not like the choreography for that number. And most actresses look silly dancing it.

Only ones like Wanda Richert who have no business in the role. Donna McKechine, Cheryl Clark, Jessica Lee Goldyn, Jessica Lea Patty, Nancy Hess (even though she bores me a bit), Nikki Snelson and Karen Prunzik all looked terrific doing it.

I might get eaten for saying this, but to me the best Cassie is Jessica Lee Goldyn. There's a video of her on that sight doing music and the mirror and I literally got chills.

There's only one Cassie and her name is Donna McKechnie. I'm sure a number of dancers have been able to come close to her performance though.
And sorry, the Bennett choreography for "The Music and the Mirror" is one of the most outstanding Broadway has seen. That's a fact, not an opinion.
