She's great! Now only if she did the original bennet choreography

Anyone who watches "Lost" will see "Richard Alpert" as one of the casting team.
Wow. I only watched Ally McBeal once and thought it was kind of lame. Are you telling me THIS kind of stuff was on there? Great.
Now, remember how great she was playing the secretary in "Grand Hotel.") And I know most of you saw her in "Nine." This woman is so talented and funny, we should see her more often on Broadway. I know a show right now that needs her desperately....
I remember watching this the night it first aired. She blew me away then and she still does tonight! Thank you so much for sharing! I love her!

If she could handle the full choreo, she would make a terrific Cassie...but I don't know how strong her dancing is...esp. after "Damn Yankees" last summer.

They must've knocked down a few walls at the Boston Public Library to stick that theater in there.

Wonderful.
haha, Namo, I was thinking the same thing!
Husk - her dancing skills are incredible. Watch her in the far superior Donmar Guys and Dolls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_S2PJ9m-Ffk
Namo - sadly I don't think even she could save the trainwreck in residency at the Nederlander.
I for one would've loved to see her replace Kelli O'Hara in South Pacific

^ I've seen her dancing, but it's still not up to MATM level. I've heard stories of women stopping and throwing up in the middle, or crying, because it's that intense.
She's lovely in that video...however, I don't think the choreography is nearly as hard and technically demanding as far as the role of Cassie goes.
I would agree that the video, while very entertaining, doesn't tell us whether or not she could handle the role of Cassie. Keep in mind, CD'A is a terrific dancer, but she wasn't up to Cassie.
I liked the choreography better in the video then in the actual show.
You like MATM choreography better in the video rather than the original?

I never watched the show, so can somebody explain why she was auditioning for A Chorus Line. Weren't they all lawyers or something?
I second Bryon, what's the plot going on here? I've watched this show since it aired, and even then I watched it rarely.
Krakowski's character was Ally McBeal's assistant, I'm not sure what the plotline was, but I imagine she was pursuing some sort of theater dream.
The role of Cassie was written for one of the most brilliant and hard-working dancers Broadway has seen. Krakowski--self-admittedly--has good dancing skills but she is by no means a trained dancer in the way that Donna McKechnie is a trained dancer. Krakowski might be able to learn the choreography and perform it for a special occasion but I doubt she could perform it eight times a week, especially when she rarely practices her dancing skills.
She is fantastic in that clip and her vocals are great, I wish she had performed the whole song and with the original Bennett choreography like everyone else said. I would love to see her back on Broadway.
It's just TV.
And David E Kelly TV at that.
I think Jane Krakowski would be horrified to think you are actually measuring her "ability to do the show seven times a week" based on 2:15 of a TV show, and a very silly one at that. I mean come on, an orchestra for an audition? With a harpist? (Although it was all shot SO lovingly, by people who clearly respected the material and really gave it a much more faithful rendition than Hollywood usually does.)
The amazing thing is the squeezed this into the weekly shoot of a TV series, on cheapo Fox budgets. Wow.
Just enjoy the clip and measure her superb talents when she is onstage (or hanging above it) not on a David E Kelly thinfest.

allofmylife-
I'm not judging her ability to dance the role based on that clip, but based on seeing her in "Damn Yankees," and then other performances of her dancing as well as my knowledge of how difficult it is to get through MATM.
"This woman is so talented and funny, we should see her more often on Broadway."
And in the West End.
That excerpt was indeed "shot SO lovingly, by people who clearly respected the material" and was absolutely stunning.
