Last week our midwestern community had the fortune of having Jason Robert Brown in residency. During a masterclass for area theatre students he invited a local kid to come up and sing a selection from "13".

I hope many of you have had the opportunity to hear him speak. He is articulate, passionate, and an educator at heart. I know there has been great discourse on this board about him lately and I wanted to share with you city folks, that he represents the professional musical theatre scene with great passion.
That poor kid, being forced to humiliate himself singing that music. I thought our government had very specific views on torture.
She has a beautiful voice. It looked like he thought she might forget the words in the beginning as he was mouthing them for a while and then got into playing the song. I keep passing this cd by in the library, I may have to pick it up and listen to it.

Awww, that's precious. I'm honestly happy to see this show is getting such a cult following.
Good for you bwaybri.
He came to my college 2 years ago and acted like a douchebag.
I'm rather worried about her voice. She's really straining on the top belt notes there. :/
