I think judging a show based on a rough cut of the music is a little immature. Maybe people should actually see the show before they make assumptions, its so naive to me that people would do that.
"What it means to be a friend" blew me away in the show. Sarah knocks in out of the park with an amazingly powerful delivery, and I'll admit that it got me teary eyed. Because, we all know what it is like to be betrayed and hurt like that, it hits close to home.
And "being a geek" is not meant to be an AMAZING JRB song. Its coming from a awkward 13 year old boy who has no idea who he is, or what he really wants. And his Rabi isn't helping either.
The songs work perfect in the show. Maybe you should see it before you judge. (Same with the people on Legally Blonde.)
It's the old school saying "Don't Judge a book by its cover"
Now all I see are cute boys with short haircuts in a maze of their own...
