Jekyll and Hyde

Probably the worst show I've ever seen. A collection of songs that build to nothing and never become a cohesive or dramatic score, a generic bastardization of a classic story with predictable and lifeless characters.

I felt bad for the actors, trying to act with such poor and soulless material.

The Murder, Murder number is my favorite.

I really liked the music and like listening to the CD, but unfortunately the production was not all that great. In fact some parts were even kind of silly.

Loved the music, saw the dvd, loved the ladies in it... think it has multiple holes, that would be masked if done as a big budget hollywood film...I think it would blow the chicago movie out of the water....

I actually think that Frank could be the savior of the movie musical...everything he and his book/lyricists have contrived have seemed to me to be movies on stage.

I saw it three times with Sebastian Bach and the David Hasselhoff video version as well as a regional production. I love the show, although I felt the broadway ensemble was a little difficult to understand. I think its unfortunate that Hasselhoff funded the making of the video and did such a poor job and he wore too much make up too. Its too bad he didnt realize he was doing such a poor job with it, I wouldve wanted to have a video with pretty much anyone else in it.

Don't get me started...I've supported J&H before it opened pre-Bd'w in Houston. It took over 10 years to get there. And it was a far cry from the Warlowe concept album that everyone thought would be transformed into a great gothic-thriller musical. It fell short in many areas.

However, in defense of the show , despite itself, it brought some great talent in the form of Linda Eder, Bob Cucciolo, Robert Evan, Christiane Noll to the fore. All continue to do well or at least hold their own to this day. Seen all the Jekylls'/ Lucys'/Emmas'. Some really great people to meet and know and in some cases, work with.

What can I say? It had a cult following that ran out after the funds went away. It coulda, shoulda been a contender. 4 years is longer than most shows last, thanks to the jekkies, bless them all.

I love the show. Saw it three times with Rob Evan. He was fantastic. Even saw a road show version. Hated the DH video version. Thought the women were great. Loved it from the concept. This Is The Moment is a favorite song.

Boy was my wife pissed when the dropped "Bring on the Men" from the Broadway show. Good & Evil (song that replaced it) was definitely inferior. Linda Eder said, at the stage door, it was a mistake taking it out.

I enjoyed J&h because of Linda Eder. I like the music however the show was a little dry for me. The original cast was great!

Great score. I enjoyed the Robert Cucciolo version one million times more than the TV version. I guess I should just say no David Hasselhoff (sp?). The other performers, especially Coleen Sexton were great!

This is an awesome show! I saw it both pre-broadway tour and about 13 times on broadway. I think the Original Cast was too good for words. Linda, damn..what a belter... Robert..was the hardest working man in NYC during that time.....
However..it was a huge MISTAKE to bring David Hasselhoff to the canvas. What a pathetic replacement for any of the Jekylls before him. I personally think that he was the cause of the closure. I saw the last performance on broadway and the emotions were so strong that night and yet it still was a flawed performance because of Hasselhoff. I too own the dvd, but hate that it has hasselhoff instead of robert C.
anyway. my thoughts on the show.
