Do we know who's going to be on this cd? I've searched, but came up empty. Wondering if anyone has any inside info...?

Posted: 2/21/06 at 9:36pmThat's kind of what I'm wondering, too. Unless it's a killer cast, (which is why I asked), what's the point? And really, who's going to be better than Anthony Warlow anyway?

Dracula a J&H: Resurrection are both set for April 4. The new J&H is supposed to capture the reorchestration for the concert, which, as I understand it, has more of a rock feel to it (I'm seeing it Saturday, so I guess I'll find out whether that's true or not). As for Dracula:
Dracula: James Barbour
Mina: Kate Shindle
Jonathan Harker: Rob Evan
Lucy: Lauren Kennedy
Van Helsing: Norm Lewis
Renfield: Euan Morton
Girls of the Night: Christine Noll, Lynette Marrero, and Margaret Ann Gates

There isn't a page up yet for the J&H recording.

The top picture of Lauren Kennedy on that site linked? Wow. Gorgeous.
I'll admit it: I can't wait for either of these disks. I love Jekyll & Hyde, and I love Dracula's cast.
ETA: Here's a track listing for the J&H CD:

Posted: 2/21/06 at 10:16pmIt is NOT the orchestrations from the concert tour. Kim Scharnberg reorchestrated his previous work from the Broadway version for the tour and Jeremy Roberts orchestrated the Resurrection CD.

From Talkin'Broadway, All ThatChat thread (Jeremy Roberts post)
"The new album, which we're calling, "Jekyll & Hyde: Resurrection", although inspired by the concert tour, is not exactly related, although the 3 principals are the same as most of the tour dates.
For the album, we (we being Frank Wildhorn and myself, Jeremy Roberts) re-conceived the perfect plan (sorry, bad pun from the text of the show) - and we set out to make a studio recording, with 3 singers, with a very current/contemporary sound. This album has nothing in common with any staged version of the show. We restored songs to their full, original versions, we didn't sacrifice anything for the music... this is a studio recording, and it was made to be listened to (as opposed to a representation of a staged production). Rob Evan delivered the studio performance of his life, and his ownership of the role and his studio technique coupled with the all-new rock & roll orchestrations featuring Alex Skolnick on guitar and a new approach to each song's arrangement -- I'm getting ahead of myself... until I post audio clips, no amount of talk will mean anything -- this music was screaming out to be recorded this way, so we did it. I will have details and audio clips on the GlobalVision Records website within a few days...
FYI, We delivered the production masters to the plant this morning.I look forward to April 4 - when everyone can hear what we've done."

Posted: 2/21/06 at 11:08pmHasn't Jekyll and Hyde done it's dash?

Thanks for the clarification on the orchestrations. I'd heard different things here and there, and I knew there was a relation, but I couldn't find anything about it when I wanted to, naturally.
And as for J&H doing its dash, I think there's something admirable about being able to be confident enough on one's work to revise it periodically and showcase its changes. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this version turned out.
I do wish that "Till You Came Into My Life" from the 1990 Concept Cast would reappear on a recording someday.

I saw him as Valjean.
So, no, you're not.
re: Jekyll and Hyde Resurrection cast???#15
Posted: 2/22/06 at 3:15amDo people not like the original cast recording? I just get why they are doing this. Of all shows, why this?
re: Jekyll and Hyde Resurrection cast???#16
Posted: 2/22/06 at 11:04amBecause I need as many recordings as "Bring On The Men" as possible. To bad they wouldn't put on iTunes. That way I could just buy that song along with "Girls of the Night" and be on my merry way.
