This clip was sent to me. I do not know off-hand if it is available anywhere. Sorry!

It's an aweful DVD
It's too bad we don't have a DVD of the show worth watching. For me anyway he just makes the whole thing unwatchable. I think I would watch it more if it had "Bring On The Men", but it doesn't even have that.
I'm really forward to the touring Concert CD though.
Andrea Rivette is the only thing to recommend about this DVD travesty.
I know Coleen Sexton is loved here, but I didn't like her Lucy at all. Her singing was shrill and pitchy to me.

His voice is very reminiscent of a goat, no?

david wasn't the worst one..did anyone see jack wagner????
eeeks...
oh no, Jack Wagner was bad? I would have loved to see him in the role...huge fan from his Melrose days. Heather Locklear and her husband attended Jack's opening night!
There are a lot of talented cast members happy that this DVD took place. I am glad it happened for their sake.
I will pass along your good thoughts in an e-mail to Andrea. This gal's been through a lot of serious illness towards the end of her run in J/H and she is a trooper and well deserves another spot to shine on stage.
by the way, I did see J&H with Hasselhoff live and thought he was absolutely horrendous. The two leading women however, Andrea Rivette and Colleen Sexton, were fabulous!
My favorite part's the transformation - it looks like Hasselhoff's breakdancing to waltz music.
I watch it every time I need a good laugh.
The two female leads, as nearly everyone else said, are fantastic - well, the entire cast is, save Hasselhoff.
I saw Hasselhoff on his last performance (we had free tickets, so why not). He wasn't THAT bad, but he certainly wasn't great either. I did laugh my fanny off when he was doing the transformation and he collasped on the floor. He looked like he was having convulsions. It was pretty funny...the long hair was pretty funny too!!!!
I liked Coleen Sexton's voice (of course I was comparing her to Linda Eder), but for someone so young, she was pretty good. I wasn't loving Andrea Rivette, but that's just me. She wasn't bad, don't get me wrong, just not my cup of tea.
The one thing I didn't get about this show (I saw the original cast), is when Lucy finds out that Hyde is after her, that she broke out into a song. I would have hightailed my *ss out of there!
Did anyone see Sharon Brown (tour) as Lucy?
LOL!!! I would've high-tailed it out of "London's East End" PERIOD!!
If the movie comes to fruitiion it has the opportunity to have great special effects....I can't wait!!!
I took a group to see the tour with Chuck Wagner and Sharon Brown. Very disappionted with Brown's portrayal of Lucy. While she had a powerful voice, she took each song out of character and into "concert" format, actually facing and singing to the audience. Brown is a beautiful actress and I can imagine was wonderful in Dreamgirls, but Lucy was not a good role for her. I was never convinced of her vulnerability...but most of the guys perked up when she did "Bring On The Men". She had the look and the moves!
I'd love to see her in something else.

Dottie - I think she doesn't leave right away because she's still in love and isn't sure.
OR, as it IS a musical - that song could have been one second in real life (her inner thought revealed, her head opened so we can see inside, etc.)
PB - isn't BRING ON THE MEN more of a concert song anyway? It IS a performance...in the show.
PB ENT, thanks. I saw Sharon as the narrator in Joseph and in the Dreamgirls revival. She was wonderful in both. She has such a powerful voice and I'm sorry she hasn't been back to Broadway since Dreamgirls.
BSoBW2, thank you, too. I understood that, but there were a lot of pieces in the show that just didn't add up. Although it was an intriguing story, it was poorly directed.
Yes, BOTM is staged as part of the Red Rat scene and sung to an audience on stage. BUT, "Someone Like You", "A New Life" and "In His Eyes" were normally sung in character in a more reflective, intimate setting, almost blocking out the audience.
Sharon literally took these songs front and center into the audience. One almost expected her to bow at the end. She was the only Lucy that I saw do this and personally I didn't like her style for this.
PB ENT, if Sharon (as Lucy) sang "In His Eyes" towards the audience, what was Emma doing?

She was probably calling Equity for unfair treatment.
LOL! I am trying to say that she was "hamming" the songs, playing to the audience. Yes, "In His Eyes" blocking places both Emma & Lucy front and center. Neither are focused on each other or anyone for that matter. Every actress I've seen sings this in a reflective manner. Sharon was singing to the crowd, even making eye contact during "In His Eyes". She simply put a different twist on this song and most of the songs to draw attention to Sharon Brown , not Lucy Harris.
Maybe you needed to be there to understand what I am attempting to say. No big deal, though...Chuck Wagner and Andrea Rivette had a marvelous rapport together. Andrea was very heartfelt with all her J/H's. And she is the only Emma to have played opposite every actor (except Cuccioli) that played J/H on Bd'w/Bd'w Tour Not bad!
PB, I think you described it just fine. It's just making me laugh, because I can picture it!
Whew! Thank goodness! Truthfully, I would love to have seen Sharon in Dreamgirls.(now, please,it's your turn to help me picture it) What role did she play and how?
Sharon played Effie in the 1987 revival (she replaced Lilias White). She made more of an impression on me when she was in Joseph because she was so young (20) and had such an amazing voice. I specifically went back to see Dreamgirls because she was in it. Though I don't remember her pulling any, "it's all about me" during the numbers!! Though Effie's songs were all about her! Does that make sense?
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
I recently saw Sharon Moore go on in CHICAGO as one of the girls in the "Cell Block Tango". She's very talented and stunning. I can only imagine what she was like as Effie White.
