i wan to do this show but the concept version(the warlow recording) instead of the broadway one, does anyone know who holds the rights for said version?

well, you can't do the show exactly as it is on the complete work CDs. there is no current licensing for anything like that. but the version offered by MTI isn't the Broadway version either. It has "I Need to Know", doesn't have "No One Knows Who I Am", replaces "Good 'N' Evil" with "Bring on the Men", uses the complete "Board of Governors" song a la the complete work and uses a slightly different book than what was used on Broadway.

Now, when you license the show from MTI you get an E-mail from the Fullerton Civic Light Opera saying that for more money you can license their version which has a lot more twists and turns plot wise and uses some things from the complete work that the other version does not. However, you still have to pay for the MTI scripts even though you are not using them and you still have to pay MTI royalties fees as well.

I don't like the FCLO version. I think it takes too many liberties and ruins the show as a whole, but others love it so I dunno... your call.

"Bring On The Men" is a great song.

thanks cats- this saves me alot of time and effort, since my chief concern was having "bring on the men" and "i need to know"... although i'll still miss "bitch, bitch, bitch" and the original version of "facade"

also, I believe if you ask, you can put "No One Knows Who I Am" back in. it was in for the regional version I saw. they cut it because a lot of high schools were doing jekyll and school boards were upset with the line "will I survive who will give a damn..." saying that it suggested Lucy contemplating suicide. I mean, the fact that Hyde kills a bunch of people... who the hell cares that's just violence, but you sure as hell can't sing about suiside. no way. so to make more money with high schools MTI cut the song from the script.

^ Which, the FCLO / MTI configuration, or the Complete Work? Because the Complete Work was never an option, and still isn't. So far as I know, FCLO / MTI is still the case.
