Just how many Broadway and Off-Broadway Productions has Mr. Orbach starred or co-starred in? Starting with I believe the original cast of "The Fantastiks"?
The Fantasticks and Threepenny Opera Off-Broadway
Carnival, Annie Get Your Gun, Promises, Promises, Chicago, 6 Rms Riv Vu, 42nd Street on Broadway
He also was the original Franz Liebkind in The Producers. He played the role in the pre-Broadway Chicago run but was replaced around the time of The Producers Broadway opening, which I have never understood since he was TERRIFIC as Franz.
You're thinking of Ron Orbach. Jerry Orbach was never in The Producers.

Jerry was at THE PRODUCERS however. He sat across the aisle from me at a Saturday matinee immediately after it opened. LOL.
Yours for a better Broadway!
I stand corrected! Out of embarassment, Rex like to slink off with his tail between his legs but Old English Sheepdogs don't have tails!
i had the honor of hearing him perform at the mack and mabel concert that was held at lincoln center earlier this year, and he was amazing.
I saw him in the original production of CHICAGO with Gwen and Chita. He was wonderful. I wish that he had done a cameo in the film as Chita did. I think it would have been a hoot to have him play the prosecution attorney, a tip of the hat to his past and current career.
i saw him in Promises Promises (his tony award) and Chicago several times and 42nd street several times.........he stayed with shows for years.....was often called "ironman."
he was awesome in Promises, Promises.
Even though it's not a musical, he was great in Dirty Dancing.
AND of course singing Be Our Guest in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
He'd be a great Caldwell B. Cladwell in Urinetown. I hear, though, that his shooting schedule for Law & Order keeps him too busy to do a Broadway show.

I had the pleasure of seeing him in PROMISES, PROMISES and in the last revival of 42nd St. A great performer.
if you go on to the fantasticks site you can hear him sing try to remember
I listen to a streaming radio station "Showtimes" from Radio@Netscape and they play a lot of his work from Promises, Promises and the Fantastics. I'm sorry I never got a chance to see him perform on Broadway, he sounds fantastic.

Didn't Jerry Orbach do the voice of Lumiere in the beauty and The Beast film??
Disney is great about having Broadway talent in their animated films. I just wish they use them more in the live action films.
Yes, he was the voice of Lumiere in Beauty and The Beast.
