Aside from the unfortunate casting of white people in Asian roles, I don't agree that the musical fetishizes the Vietnam War and IMO it deals with the race/culture clash a lot better than Madama Butterfly does.
I TOTALLY agree that they should cast a Vietnamese actress as Kim, however.
