Vocally she can pull it off, I'm just not sure she can emotionally. Depends when they film it, she'd be better in a year or 2.

Why not find an unknown and put big names in as Chris and The Engineer? Lea was an unknown.

It looks like they're just thinking, "Is she Asian? She is now considered!"

I'm actually all for Anna Maria Perez de Tagle...

But, more importantly, I've ALWAYS thought this show would make an incredible film in the right hands. If Lee Daniels continues with the project, this has some pretty amazing potential!

I actually think she's very talented, so vocally mature for her age. I think she could handle. Sure she may need some acting classes, but I believe in her!

I was wondering about the statis of this movie, I have been guessing it might have been put on the backburner because of Les Mis or other reasons.

I loved Jessica on AI and was rooting for her to win. If she gets the role, I am sure she would be good vocally. I don't know anything about her acting ablity.

i love jessica. what a talented girl. i think this is just a rumor but if it comes into fruition, i think she'd be perfect for kim and she can bring something different to the character. gritty and raw.

They could just do what the Cairns Musical Theatre company did, color blind the casting and hire a 40 year white woman to play the role and light her in a hue of yellow!

She is only a year younger than Jonna Ampil was when she first tackled the role, which was Kim's exact age at the beginning of the show. I don't think age has much to do with it. Talent is another story.
