As much as I can't see her (or Ashlee lol) on Broadway, I am secret fans of both Simpson girls.

I mean, c'mon! Some of Ashlee's songs are so catchy!

Comparing Jessica Simpson to Paris Hilton is ludacris! Jessica has talent and anyone who listened to her cds "Irresistible" or "In this Skin" or "Sweet Kisses" knows about the range of Jessica. Not many pop singers can hit all the notes Jessica can. I saw Jess'concert in West Palm Beach FL, she sang 20 songs LIVE and she didn't miss a note. The older Simpson sister is a talent. Besides she is super nice to her fans, I met her 2 times.

She is a pretty terrible singer & actress. I know everyone has their own opinions, but when I heard her last CD, I wanted to rip my ears out of my head. I think she just opens her mouth & wails whatever she feels like until the correct note finally comes out. Seriously, her attempt to sing Angels....you know why the dove hit her during the making of the video. He was trying to kill her so no one would ever have to hear it again!!!!

Oh my god, thank you, Pinky. I honestly thought no one else had noticed that in the recording of Angels. Talk about sliding into it. She sounds like Emmy Rossum in Phantom. "Think I'll sing this note...oh wait...it's up a bit....down a bit...no, left....uh....that'll do."

Just throwing my two cents in...

1. i saw Jessica in concert about 2 years ago and was blown away. i don't know if my expecations were low or what, but she knocked the ball out of the park a million times over.
2. she'd have to get past that breathy pop style of singing, but she has it in her to do so.
3. she would never be up for a Tony or hailed as a great actress, but i think with some training and the right role, she wouldn't be bad.
4. i'd go see her...Christina Aguliera (my gut tells me she could act with some training)...and Mandy Moore (but my only memory of Mandy singing is that pop stuff she did when she was 12 or whatever...does she have the pipes for Broadway?).

Saying that the Simpsons have no talent is rediculous. Of all the pop stars, Jessica is the one who can actually sing. We all know that Ashlee CANNOT sing, but she used to be one of the top dancers in the country.

Top dancers in the country is a bit of an exaggeration. She went to a prestigious dance school, but her inclusion depends how large your group of "top dancers" is.

The revival of "Side Show" yes, Jessica and Paris no. Paris annoys the heck out of me. She does nothing (except get drunk and act like a skank) and has millions of dollars and fame to her name. Yuck, people like that make me sick.

I would not nominate her for any role spoke of thus far (except for Daisy Mae). In a dream world where pop star and broadway star both had the same amount of validity to me, I would not mind Jessica as Amneris in Aida (seeing as it's more a pop show and I think she is what Amneris should look like). I'm not against casting a "pop star" if they have talent, as I think ***some*** do. We have to remember we are speaking about RECORDING ARTISTS, and I think most of them do that very well. IMHO, I tend to think legitimate singers such as Lea Salonga OR Alice Ripley do not sound nearly as good in the studio as they do live. But, I can't honestly see Jessica, whom I enjoy watching on TV, on Broadway any time soon.

I doubt Jessica would do Broadway anytime soon. She makes about 100 times more money with her recording-movie career than what she would make doing theatre. She still seems to be interested in theatre, and she mentioned this a few times. Christina Aguilera never said she had any interest in doing theatre. Amneris would be the perfect role for Jessica. I'd die to hear her version of "Every story is a love story", too bad Aida closed.

Yes, she would probably sound great in Every Story. I think if they were to make a ****Movie Version****, Jessica would be extremely bankable as Amneris.

Josh posted on here about a year ago that he wanted Toni Braxton as Aida and Nick Lachey as Radames and Jess. Now i guess Nick wont be in the movie.
