Didn't Disney renovated the theater? You'd think if they could lower the entire stage, they could lower the back orchestra too. Did the theater look all that renovated to those of you who have seen it?
I am sitting in row U on Thursday (I sat row N last week), so I'll see how the two compare.
No You can't lower the back of the Orchestra or you'd be in the lower lobby and Pisseours.
maybe than can lower the Flying.
Anyone who has seen it think that could happen?
I think Crowley is a major Theatre Artist and will go sit back there and solve the problem.
But I could be an idiot

I understand that the rear Orchestra is horrible, but I'm confused with the discussion of the Mezz.
It's been called both low and high in this thread- what are the sight lines like from the rear Mezz? Are they worse than other houses?
I'm used to sitting in the cheapest seats in the house, so I'm not that concerned about being close. But how is the rear Mezz in this theater?
Starletta
Cheapest ain't always so bad.
In this Theatre the Designer tried to
get the last row in the balcony as close to the stage
as he could.
He (or she) never thought TARZAN would be flying to the stage from a rope.
So it is High but not too far.
I saw MOVIN'OUT fron the balcony many times
and Santo Loquesto's set was as great up there as it was down there.

I sat in Row U, center, for the first preview...I only saw the bottom half of the stage. It's ridiculously obstructed.
so You couldn't that Jane Spider Web Under the skirt thing JC?
This sounds utterly ridiculous!
Folks, you are all forgetting one major point about these obstructed view seats -- they are sold as obstructed view at a reduced price and it is printed on the ticket. This means your view will be obstructed. A person knows this when they buy them. If they don't want obstructed view seating then they shouldn't buy them. How can someone complain they can't see part of the stage when they are told they are obstructed view BEFORE they purchase them? It would be one thing if they were not told this before purchase, but clearly they are. Everyone should stop complaining. Next issue -- how to make the show better.
My tickets do not say obstructed view on them, so if I am unable to see the spiderweb, I am going to be very upset.
What row do you have?
Row Q center orchestra on the aisle.

You'll have no problem. The trouble begins at row T.
Good to know...thanks!
I remember having rear orchestra seats for Evita at the Broadway Theatre. They were discounted because you could only see the bottom portion of the screen that dropped during the show. I knew this going in but it was the only seat I could get. I left pretty upset that I could not see the projections, but I couldn't complain because I knew it going in. I suspect that if Tarzan gets rave reviews and becomes a huge hit, people will buy these seats just to say they saw the show. JMO
well, now that they are stuck in that theatre, in a perfect world, they should just block off all those last rows of the orchestra, since I'm guessing the reason to go see this show is to "see" it. but, we all know that Disney would never do that.
maybe with enough complaints, however, they will rope that section off, or discount them even more.
They tell you they are partial view and then discount them. It is up to each person to decide if it is worth it. Wicked sells their partial view tickets for $55. Odd Couple and Spamalot sell them for full price. Each person needs to decide the value for them. To complain afterwards seems to make no sense since they are telling you upfront that the tickets are partial view. I don't see the problem.
A friend who works in the theater told me 2 months before the show even started previews to avoid seats in the Orchestra for this show because you wouldnt be able to see everything.
He suggested the front Mezz and thats where I got tickets for later in previews (late April) and while they arent the greatest, at least we will hopefully be able to see everything.

This same thing happened with LION KING for me and my young niece, we were up in the balcony and couldn't see any of the parade of animals in the orchestra..very upsetting to carelessly exclude the audience from ANY important or prolonged part of a performance. I do NOT heart Disney Theatrical.
Why is it Disney Theatricals at fault for this? Wouldn't it be the Nederlander's fault for the sightline problems? I would think the only blame Disney can take for this is picking the Richard Rodgers. Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I see no reason to blame Disney on this.

I'm in partial view, Row T center. I'll be sure to post tomorrow after I sit there.

I think that's exactly why Disney would be faulted, for picking the wrong theatre. I feel like there are some better theatres out there... the Minskoff and the New Amsterdam come to mind.
