Joey Fatone

Saw Joey Fatone after Little Shop outside the stage door this afternoon. He was perfectly charming, especially to the many screaming girls and their parents. Joey Fatone is an asset to the theatre community both on and off stage. To those who misread, the girls were screaming OUTSIDE the theatre and not during the performance. well if there's one demographic Broadway needs more of, it's screaming girls.

ouch, a republican J.? I'm so sorry....

as for Joey...there could be WORSE pop stars on broadway. i mean, am i the only one who had a mini heart attack when i heard about mary j. blige possibly being a part of "brooklyn"?

Some of them are still waiting at that stage door for the plant to come out.

i think that if pop stars are going to be doing broadway, it's only fair that they set up a union agreement like equity has with british equity. for every pop star who gets stunt cast into a show, an established Broadway performer should take their place in whatever boy band or solo act they were part of. I vote Terrence Mann for Fatone's spot in NSYNC.

Broadway Matt, i was thinking more like...Harvey Firestein for Joey's spot.

I'd personally love to see Fierstein take Scary Spice's spot, though he would be great in NSYNC. maybe the agreement should be that every pop star on Broadway gets replaced by Fierstein.

Harvey's a good idea...tho I'm all about Nathan Lane restarting 98 Degrees when Drew Lachey begins in RENT...

It is really a shame that some theatre elistists who post here want to rule out certain segments of the population. This kind of mentality does not help sell tickets. Bway cant always be Sondheim and shows which simply dont sell tickets on a long range basis. We need to keep JOBS! I have no objections to the pop stars who can do the shows. I object to stupid, rude people in the audience

it's not a matter of discriminating certain groups of people. it's a matter of proper theatre etiquette. theatre is for everyone, as long as they keep their mouths shut and turn off their phones during the show.

It's shameful, appalling, but he's the only member of NSYNC I would totally do. I think it's sweet that he looks sort of winded after the dances. He could nuzzle his fat tire against the back of my waist any day!

Nowhere in my posting did it say that the girls were screaming in the theatre. I have seen terrible behavior during shows with non-pop stars so dont blame that on this new young audience. Some of you wont quit being elitist until we have a repeat of the situation of the 80s when only 2 shows were nominated for a Tony and there was record high unemployment. You obviously didn't hear tell of the NSync groupies shouting out random "I Love You Joey"s during RENT anytime there was a moment of silent or softer section of music for them to yell over.

I dont listen to hear tell. I observe first hand. You obviously are repeating stories from the past but we are now in the present at LSOH and not RENT. I have seen LSOH with Joey twice and there was no shouting out at Joey except for the loud unanimous cheers at the curtain calls- from all ages. Sorry to disappoint those who want to see him fail but he is doing well. Let's wish all Bway shows well- jobs! jobs! jobs! Updated On: 7/4/04 at 03:14 PM

Joey is very good in LSOH. I didn't hear a single girl scream for him. There wasn't even applause on his entrance...
