Posted: 7/4/04 at 6:36pmit's always acceptable and quite wonderful when someone gets applause for their first entrance. it made me quite happy to see Doug Sills get one at LSOH, and Donna Murphy and Jennifer Westfeldt have each gotten quite a large applause each time I've seen Wonderful Town. I just think it's very inappropriate to yell an actor's name out during a show, because it removes both the actor and the audience from the world of the show. when they are onstage they are a character and we shouldn't hear their real name mid-show. maybe it only bothers me, but I know that when I'm onstage acting, I don't want to hear people yelling "Matt!" Now at curtain call, that's another story... Man I miss performing.

Hes gotten a lot of screams for being the poster boy of other people work. He didn't choreograph the songs and he didn't write the songs. While there are others out there that work and work and work and dont get a lick of credit. And i think those people should get more licks.

I saw Joey in LSoH a few days after he started and I was pleasantly surprised by his performance. He did get entrance applause, but most of the cast did. I really enjoyed the show overall, the highlight being Rob Bartlett.... and I'd just like to add that DAMN!!!! Michael-Leon Wooley (the voice of the plant) has a sexy ass voice on him. Just... wow.

Posted: 7/6/04 at 11:34amJoey is a very good asset. He is a great performer and from personal experience he was very nice and charming outside. I met him Saturday and he talked to me and gave me a hug and took a picture with me. He was also great on stage.

Well, he certainly plays geeky very well! I saw it on Sunday and thought he was actually very well-cast. He got a little entrance applause, but the screaming was reserved for the curtain call.
Jessica Snow-Wilson was fine, not a revelation or anything, but she has a good voice and looks smashing in the costumes...a little sexier take than Kerry Butler's, I thought, but Kerry got more of the laughs.
