I think this will GREAT news for whoever liked his performances!!!! According to barrowmanonline.com, John has signed up to the new Producers film!!! no role confirmed yet!
I think he'll be playing a minor role though.... I mean even the role of the lead tenor was going to be played by Hugh jackman.... what's John gonna play?

I too love John! I was disappointed he didn't go shirtless in the Kennedy Center production of Company.

The truly beautiful should be lawfully restricted from wearing clothing; and the truly butt-ugly should be lawfully mandated from going naked.

I haven't been exposed to much of his work, but he is pretty. :) And from what I've heard, he's a good performer, too, so congratulations to him.

Actually, my guess would be that he's going to be the Lead Tenor in "Springtime." Hugh Jackman is really too big a star to be playing such a small role, and it's probably just a rumor that he's doing it. Besides, what else would Barrowman be playing? I don't think he would accept a chorus role...

Wow, it would be so great to se Barrowman show up as the Lead Tenor!:) Though the standard movie-going audience won't recognize him, the theatre community and theatre fans wil all get a big smile out of it. Plus, he's amazing and could blow that part out of the water.

There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

The first and only thing I've seen him in was De-Lovely. He started singing, and I was like, "Whoa. Who is that?" I thought he was wonderful, and I wish he got to sing the whole song by himself.

I don't know much about The Producers, but I too am hoping he sings a lot!

Well Allie, Night and Day isn't on it..but you should check out his solo Cole Porter cd, John Barrowman Swings Cole Porter, as well as the 2003 London Cast Recording of ANYTHING GOES in which he plays Billy Crocker.

I recently acquired that 2003 LCR of Anything Goes and I just love it. John is awesome and Sally Ann Triplett is a wonder as Reno. I love their "You're the Top" - so fun, making something different out of each verse. Highly recommended!
