In a tweet, John Lithgow mentioned he met with Scott Ellis to discuss their upcoming play in New York. I am assuming the play is Mr. and Mrs. Fitch, at the Second Stage... but I hate to assume...
It is. He and Jennifer Ehle are playing Mr and Mrs Fitch. Announced in August.
He has given his best performance so far on film in this season's DEXTER. This coming from a longtime fan who thought his work in RAISING CAIN would probably never be topped. I look forward to this new stage endeavor.

Thanks all...with Christopher Walken's new play, and this one, I have two "Must Sees" on my list.
Absolutely love Lithgow in Dexter. Have crossed him off my babysitters' list though.
John Lithgow "tweets"?
I'm sure he'll win an Emmy next year for DEXTER.
Yes, he tweets as John_Lithgow, and is worth following.
I agree with an Emmy nod for John Lithgow. Also, Jennifer Carpenter (Mrs. Michael C. Hall) has done amazingly well this season on Dexter. I didn't really like her before, but this season she has amazed me. Emmy for her too. And it's about time Emmy recognized Hall. He's funny...he's scary...he's terrific.
I agree Sally. Never have I come so full-circle from abhorring a character at first to absolutely LOVING her as I have with Ms. Carpenter/Mrs.Hall. It seems to me that this show won't be recognized by awards committees until after it is over, it may just be too dark. I thought when CBS started airing censored episodes that that a was a good sign that it was finding an even bigger audience and I wonder why they don't air more, though I suppose it was just a time-filler during the writer's strike in the first place. Either way, this is one of the only shows that started off great and somehow has gotten better each season.

Lithgow is truly one of the best all around performers of our time. He makes it look so easy.

His performance in M BUTTERFLY haunts me still.
And with Jennifer Ehle?!?
*sigh* Opposite coasts can be annoying.
