Jon larson music question...(its weird...)

This is probably the weirdest question ever....

(and if its on the wrong board, sorry. i wasn't sure where to put it...)

but i know jonathan larson wrote music for sesame street. And whenever i hear the commercial for the Elmo's Restaurant toy, in the beginning, it sounds SO much like "Light My Candle"

is there any way to know if they used this tune from something he wrote long ago? Has anyone else noticed this?

haha you KNOW you're a renthead when sesame street commercials make you burst into song....

That is so weird, I just saw this commercial the other da yand thought the EXACT same thing. It wouldn't surprise me if it was Jonathan's music! Pretty cool. My nephew is sooo getting that kitchen for Christmas!

I saw the commercial today and I thought it actually sounded more like the Little Shop of Horrors title tune than anything Jonathan Larson wrote for Rent.

Eh, only the first note. And there are only so many chords in existence, you know? re: Jon larson music question...(its weird...)
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

I was thinking it sounds more like every song in Grease (they all sound the same to me). Like, the classic 50s rock chords. I see the Rent connection though.
