i would've loved to see him in Chicago. but Cullen Titmas was pretty good [and really nice] as Brian...a skinny Brian. haha

I swear I saw Cole Porter as Nicky/Trekkie for the show I saw, and Brian was a skinny guy who really didn't work well. But Nicky/Trekkie was just great! I took my friend for his birthday, and he was just amazed that Kate and Lucy are voiced by the same actor, especially when Kate and Lucy are having a conversation. :O)

This change can only be a good thing!

From Vegas to the tour stop in Buffalo, it seemed Cole had simply lost the will to live on that stage.

His tour performances when I saw the show were boring, lazy, and heartless.

Anyway, Jordan Gelber is not a font of personality or charisma. You are not missing much. Brian is sorta a lame role anyway.

Cullen was so funny! He had no Southern-accent, and his comedic timing was great. Besides him being skinny whereas Brian is supposed to be "fat and lazy," IMO he would make a great full-time Brian.

He wasnt southern. And Cole played the first act of the first show in Chicago. The entire time he looked like he was gonna burst into tears. He did not come back to do the 2nd act and was out the rest of the Chicago run

When I saw the tour in Buffalo, Cullen was doing Trekkie/Nick and was VERY good. Porter was OK but not great.

I most definitely did not hear any hint of a southern accent in Cullen's portrayal of Brian.

Cullen's Brian didn't seem Southern when we saw the show in Chicago. He wasn't great, but he wasn't bad either.

Does anyone know what's going on with Porter that he's being replaced like this?

I saw 2 Brians in Chicago during the matinee on 5/31. For the first act, Brian was played by Cole Porter, who wasn't very good. He had little comic timing. Then a new Brian came out during the second act, played by Cullen Titmas. Like mauriposa said, he wasn't great, but not bad. I wondered what happened to Cole--he didn't look like he was well. Hope he's O.K. Glad to see Jordan back. I like when he says the lines "Thank you. Honey." with a pause between the two phrases after Christmas Eve yells "Get a job!"

Porter was by far the weak link in an otherwise fantastic touring cast. He didn't seem to be having any fun and was just going through the motions. Who knows why that came across on stage (be it personal, professional, or just plain terrible stage presence) but it was enough for more than one person I know who saw it during its two week run here to comment that he was the obvious weak link.

I saw the show on 5/3 8 PM and 6/1 2 PM and both times Cullun was on. I walked by the theatre on 5/29 and saw te u/s board with cullun on it. and Lake, I have a clip from the tour with Cullun to prove it.

I believe I read Porter was dealing with some serious health issues. That might account for his lackluster performance.
