Anyone seen this yet? I love me some Lena Hall. It's playing the King's Theatre in Brooklyn and the Beacon. Debating on seeing this.
Coming to CT. I've been debating this as well. I've been looking for Lena Hall's set list. I want to know what she's going to sing before I get tickets.
There's some videos up online. I'm not sure what she's singing but I know she's doing a few of her original songs. The tickets in Brooklyn are only like $35, so it's not that bad.
Going Saturday nite---- very excited !! Love the setlist !
Got tix at the box office to avoid the ticketmonster surcharge
$40 Mezz on the aisle
I double checked the prices for LA, October 29th, and there is a few $75 tickets. 60% chance of going. I have his Stages album and I hear it all the time. I didn't know he existed before this album lol I love "Le Temps Des Cathedrales", "Try to Remember", "Children Will Listen/Not While I'm Around", "Dulcinea", and "What I Did for Love", in that order. I pretty much love the whole album. I heard he sings "Unusual Way" from Nine.. Now that I can't wait for!

Lena tweeted a setlist the other day. Now I can't find it. From what I remember, she sings All I Ask of You & If I Loved You with Josh, and Maybe I'm Amazed and one other song solo
Yep--- 2 songs with josh, and 2 solos---- not sure of the 2nd one, but "Maybe, I'm Amazed" is fierce !!
Stubhub had tickets for like $35 for Saturday. Like a rush ticket for Broadway so might do it.
Attended opening night in Atlanta. 20 piece orchestra and an all Broadway set list. No doubt the guy can belt and he is technically adept. My issue was lack of emotion. Singing "Old Devil Moon" did not feel like a love song. Even his duet, "All I ask of You", was sung at rather than to his partner. (No, it was not Lena Hall.) He reminded me of the delivery you get with Celine Dion. Every song sounds the same after a while. (They both worked with David Foster and that's the delivery you get.) I read that he wants to appear on Broadway. Before that can ever happen, he will need some help in acting during a song. It's not enough to just hit the notes. I was really hoping there would be more to his performance live, but it was simply a recreation of what you hear on the CD.
Hm. I totally get that. I like Kelly Clarkson on the record, but I don't think I care for his voice on "All I Ask of You." He does sound pretty emotionless. And Bring Him home is suuuuuuuch an emotional song.

OMG! I think you nailed it. I've never quite taken to Josh Grobin and I couldn't figure out why. He has a great voice, but you're so right. He lacks emotion and all the songs start to sound the same. That's totally it. I think he's funny though. He seems to have a good sense of humor.

Just got back from the show--- have to say--- the Kings Theatre is one of the most beautiful venues that I have ever seen !! The renovations are nothing short of spectacular
The show was very good --- could have been longer, but the setlist was excellent !
Simply put, Lena Hall is a beast !! How can someone sound that great every single time they perform ??!!
Her solos were incredible !! "Maybe, I'm Amazed" and Queen's "Save Me" --- both are from her live CD from the Carlyle that is out next week -- for the $40 I spent for our seats, well worth it !!

Lena has a live CD coming out? I can't find any information on this anywhere.
Per Lena -- live from Cafe Carlyle --- out next week
I know they both have theatre connections, but that seems like such an odd pairing for a concert tour. It would be like Anne Murray and Stevie Nicks doing a tour.
Josh told the story--- He saw "Hedwig" and was blown away by her performance--- met after the show, and they had a lot in common as far as the songs that they both enjoyed from Broadway --- rest I guess you would say is " tour history"

Thanks Testing. Can't wait to get it. Seeing Lena with Josh in 2 weeks. Was ecstatic that she's a guest on his tour
Awesome!! Beacon show ? Yep---- will be there as well on the 30th
Their duets were magical !!
Does he sell merchandise? maybe souvenir program??

Nah, upstate in Albany on 10/3. Wonder if Lena will stage door
I find it funny when we can get a quick autograph and/or picture at the stage door, while some people spend $400+ for those VIP packages. They are crazy.
Had a ton of merch !! At least 5 different tees---- totes, keychains , magnets, mugs, etc
They both came out after show last night --- :))

Testing, I'm confused. Does Lena open the show... like do her own set? I don't really get it. She only performs 2 songs? I'm dumb. I'd be lying if I didn't say I was hoping for a little Long Grift. She doesn't sing that, right?
"
Lena doesn't open---- she was introduced by Josh , ( after his 3rd or 4th song) and they sang " All I Ask of You" ---- she then sang " Save Me" --- that was in the 1st act
After intermission, ( and again after his 3rd or 4th song) they sang again together , and then she sang " Maybe, I'm Amazed"
